Sypht + Captain Dangerous + Dazeddakotas

Well after a rather massive break it was awesome to be asked to do another show and we managed to pull it off! Thanks to everyone who made the effort to get there for it, it was a great night and a lot of fun to get playing again!

Portland Arms Cambridge, Wed 1st September 2004

Sypht + Head on + Beats Capri + Charlie Moore 4

This ws a great night. A big crowd gathered as Head on kicked things off and got the audience going with their raw rock sounds, followed by a great set from beats capri, combining hard indie rock with some great female vocals. The we were up, the set went well and we got a good responce which cant be a bad thing! couple of little hitches but nothing big enough to stop us enjoying ourselves! The night ended with a blazing set from charlie moore 4. Some great atmospheric and melodic hard rock had the crowd in awe. great night and cheers to all who came!

Portland Arms Cambridge, Thurs 12th August 2004

Sypht + Jordan Hacan Ramone + Princess Drive + The Charm Offensive aka Greg (Dawn Parade) with Seymour (Miss Black America)

allonstageportland.jpg

We were up first and the set went well despite sam having left most his essentials in Leicester the night before. Thanks for all the support from those who turned up, the Portland always has a great atmosphere and this was no different. The whole night was a great success topped off with a brilliant set from the Charm Offensive.

The Shed, Leicester, Wed 11th August 2004

Sypht + Cameron + Hollow + Phonic Rapture

sam2shed.jpg

Cameron kicked things off with a really strong set and a really good original sound. Up next were Hollow who were more toned down with heartfelt songs similar to bands like the calling. Good stuff. After that it was our turn. We made sure we gave it some so the 15 or so in the audience (!) didnt get too bored..and we thought it went really well. definitly great fun! We were followed by Phonic Rapture, whose solid rock sounds finished the night off strongly. Good gig!

APU Cambridge, Friday 6th August 2004

Sypht + The Mono Effect + Jetplane Landing

This was a great show. The place was filling up nicely by the time our 8-song set started, kicking off with million things. The responce for each song was great and besides the stage being like an oven it went really well! "tight as a dogs backside" as someone said. The mono effect were up next and put on a great set, getting everyone moving and then jetplane landing took to the stage and completely owned the night. Thanks to everyone for coming down!

Peterhouse College, University of Cambridge, Cambs. Mon 14th June 2004

tommeehhh

This was an outdoor show, our first in aaages! We'd been invited to play at this party and we couldn't have asked for a nicer day! Lovely sunny day and besides a couple of tech problems, the set went without a hitch and it was great fun. Made a nice change playing early afternoon in the sun! Bit red now though.

APU Cambridge, Saturday March 27th 2004

Sypht + Heffer

i.jpg

Well unfortunately the headlining band could not perform meaning there would only be two bands. Our set was not too bad, though we were tired from the midweek travelling! Heffer put on a good set, and although the audience was lacking, it was a fun show

The Falcon Inn, Lincoln. Wednesday 24th March 2004

Sypht + The Whelk Attatchment + Full Frontal

falcon1.jpg

wow...what a show! this gig was possibly the most fun show we've ever played! The place was packed and thanks to all the people that came down to support us. We'll definitly try to come back to Lincoln soon!

Cambridge Boatrace, Saturday 10th January 2004

Sypht + Super 7

100104.jpg

Just the two bands on the bill for this one which meant a longer set. This gave us the chance to play a couple of new ones which went down well with the crowd. A strong set and we loved it! Super 7 also put on a great show to end the night.

Cambridge Boatrace, Saturday October 25th 2003

Sypht + Minus + Houston 500

This was a great gig! The place got packed and it was a great night. Our set didnt go too badly, a few hiccups with the new stuff but we predicted that! Minus put on a great rock n roll show followed by Houston 500 who got everyone going. It was a great night with a top crowd. Thanks to all who came!

Northampton Soundhaus, Saturday September 27th 2003

Sypht + False Impression + Owing To This + Conspiricy

This was our first gig outside Cambridge and it went pretty well. After we had managed to find the place! We felt me put a lot into the performance despite a fairly lacking audience and all the other bands put on great shows, all in all, worth the trip!

The Boatrace, Thursday August 28th 2003

Sypht + Spies In Limbo + Whirlwind Heat

syphtboatrace.jpg

This was a great gig and thanks to everyone who turned up to see us and the other bands. It was Spies in Limbo's 1st gig and it really didnt seem it! A really strong set from them and they are a really nice bunch of guys!
Our set went well, trying out a couple of new songs - Breaking Point and Know By Now, which went down well with the usual crowd. Then Whirlwind heat came on...what a show! These guys are such a spectacle live! Theyre Brilliant on stage! The album isnt half bad either...different...but very good!

The Boatrace, Thursday April 24th 2003

Sypht + Le Neon + (x) is greater than (y) + Winnebago Deal

This was a great gig! We had to play early to kick off the night starting at 8 and only playing for about 20 mins but it was well worth it. We managed to shift a few cd's too. Le Neon and (x)is greater than (y) both put on great shows and then came winnebago deal. They were incredible! Well worth checking out....and they were extremely loud!...Buy their cd now!

Portland Arms, Thursday April 16th 2003

Sypht + Insaniac + The Virgin Suicides

This was our first headlining gig and it didn't go exactly to plan. Not too bad though, just a few minor mistakes. We really enjoyed finally getting to play a longer set and we are really grateful to everyone who came along! cheers! Also thanks to Insaniac for putting on a great show and for coming a fair treck from Norwich to play!

Portland Arms, Thursday January 13th 2003

Sypht + 29times + Librium + Honeyspider

This was a gooood gig. 29 times kicked off the night with a brilliant set and certainly showed that theyre gonna be around for a while! A great mix of songs and they really showed some skills! bo selecter. The it was us, and we figured it went really well! A few minor mistakes but they didnt seem to matter. The response was good afterwards and thats always a good thing! The night was finished off with Librium and Honeyspider. Both excellent bands and played really strong sets. Good night over all!

Portland Arms, Thursday January 23rd 2003

Sift + A~R + Chief Sharkey

This was the best gig yet. The Portland may only be a little ol' place (bless it) but it was certainly rocking for this one! According to a number of people it was our best gig so far. We managed to shove 2 new songs into the set-list (fuel for all the pain and a million things) which both seemed to go down well! A~R also put on their usual ass kicking show with bwains and new lad malcom fitted in no problem! Go see them when ever u get the chance because A~R rule!
Thanks to all that attended and to Ainsley the sound guy, a great bloke!

Kirsty's 21st Birthday party, Willingham Social Club - Sat 14th Dec 2002

phat with a ph. very good night although we got told a few times it "was a bit too loud". Did a few covers again as we did at steph's - green day - time of your life (rob) and oasis - morning glory (sam) which went down well. Good practice to keep things going while we're all busy at uni!
Thanks to kirsty for letting us play! it was cool....for us at least!

Man on the Moon, Saturday 12th October 2002

Sift + Stonemole + Mundane Threat + Candyheads

After a great night at the party on friday (see below) we were ready to go full out on this one (or as much as we could after being at a bangin party) and we did just that. The performance went really well after a rather limited amount of time for a sound check resulting in us cutting 2 songs from our set! Well worth all of us hauling ass back to cambs from uni for tho! Thanks to everyone who came along and a big thankyou to mark for giving us the gig with candyheads! it was brilliant!!

Steph & Ruth's 18th, Landbeach Social Club, Friday October 11th 2002

Wooo! This was wicked! Cowboy's & Indian's fancy dress party that was so much fun!! Rather than sticking to the usual set list we decided on a few covers both acoustic and ELECTRIC (rockin). These included a great performance of Green Day's "time of your life" by Rob, "morning glory" performed acoustically by Sam, The classic Foo Fighters track "everlong" and a rare drum solo by the Tomster.  We were loud and it kicked ass. Thanks for letting us play ladies! Hope you all enjoyed yourselves!

The Boatrace, Thursday 5th September 2002

Sift + Show Without Punch vs Brave Soldier + Broken Family Band + Dustball

Well, this was our first Boatrace gig and possibly the biggest gig we've done so far. Our set went down really well with loads of positive feedback afterwards, especially on our new song "Tonight" which we were glad about!
Show without puch were up next and played a very interesting set which was really different, but in a very good way. Really entertaining and musically brilliant! Then the broken family band were up, minus drummer, playing their intelligent country/folk style music through a strong set. Finally it was Dustball. They blew the crowd away with a blistering live show. Very very good with dynamic music to suit a very exciting stage show..nice one guys!
All round good gig.

The Portland Arms, Saturday 11th July 2002

Sift + Virgin Suicides + Neo

Well, as expected, this was a brilliant gig. Quite possibly the best set we've ever played. "Follow" went down really well after going a bit tits-up at the moon and the reception we got (especially Sam) from the 60 foreign exchange students was very positive. "you good guitar" seemed to be said a fair bit!
As for the other bands, Virgin suicides pulled out all the stops with a brilliant stage show with great music to go with it, followed by Neo, who were excellent as usual! Thanks to everyone that came down, hope you had a good time and hopefully the next time we see you will be at the boatrace! hoorah!

Man on the moon, Saturday 15th June 2002

Sift +Lundgren + AR + Audio Justice

Well, this didn't go as well as planned on our behalf but was still a great gig! Thanks to Audio Justice and AR for the equipment, the drum kit was insane! (pics to follow soon)
All the bands were great and the sound at this gig was probably the best achieved at any man on the moon gig we've done...nice and loud!..tho we screwed up our new song a bit..lack of practice though...
All in all this was an excellent gig with all the bands doing good sets, and hopefully we'll be much better on the 11th July!

Man on the Moon, Saturday 1st June 2002

Sift + Lundgren + Clayhed + Embryonic

This was a brilliant gig and everyone felt it went really well. Lundgren got everything off to a heavy start with a loud and fast set of quite a few short songs! Then it was us, all in all a good set with Tom's rather skillfull throwing of a drumstick while playing but managing to carry on in time! Great set and we were really pleased to see everyone who came along for us, we really really appreciate all your support! Next on were Clayhed who played a strong set, closely followed by the amazing embryonic who were incredible!
Overall a wicked night and whovever didnt come should be kicking themselves!

Portland Arms, Thursday 9th May 2002

Sift (added last minute) + Left of central + Stanton + Wolf Colonel + The Samurai Seven

Due to our gig being cancelled at the moon we figured that before we wasted all sam's money from coming all the way from guildford we gave the portland a ring to see if they had any space to slot us in and very very surprisingly and also very kindly they said yes! We played our usual 1/2 hour set and it went really well. Left of central had their 1st gig and did really well, was very cool. All the other bands played brilliantly especially The samurai 7 who headlined. Brilliant gig and if you missed it then that's your loss!! was good!
Cheers to everyone who came and to rosey for letting us play!

Man on the moon. Sat 6th April 2002

Sift + Jesus + Clayhed + AR

sift @ the moon

Was a wicked gig and we wanna say thanks to everyone for coming along. You all made it a great night! Well except the rather drunk bloke at the front and some technical hitches but no worries! and thanks to the other bands; AR, Clayhed and Jesus.
