2nd April 2006
Last week was ace! We finally managed to do a show after a massive break. And pulled it off with the most minor of hitches..considering
we havent gigged properly in over a year! I (Tom) managed to get by having damaged my finger in a radiator incident and the
other guys rocked the Lincs SU as if we'd been practising all week! At least I thought so! Everyone else seemed to have enjoyed
it and we got a great reception during and after the show! We've got a few songs in the pipeline, which are taking their time
but theres not much we can do about the distance thing at the moment! Keep your eyes out for more shows though..I think we
all forgot quite how much fun it is!
30th June 2005
Blimey...it's been a while! We are still alive, we've all just been rather busy with our own bits and bobs so sypht has
been on hold a bit recently. Sam's preparing to head off to South America for a couple of months, he's leaving in just under
two weeks so obviously practices may be a bit of a hassle but I'm sure we'll manage a few....
As for me (tom), I've just got home from uni for good! I find out if I actually passed tomorrow morning...so thats
nice. Anyways, Will keep everyone posted of Sypht things...and despite the lack of practices we have a couple of new songs
penned and we'll let you know of any gigs that may arise! Stay cool chavs. Tom
3rd September 2004
Long time no..diary bit. Well, we all think our live show has improved ten fold due to a clump of gigs in a row. We've
really enjoyed having the opportunity to do loads of gigs recently but it made us realise we need some new songs! Lots of
rough riffs and stuff are coming along nicely and we've been busy so should have a fair bit to write about/influence us so
be ready for some new sheeyat soon enough. Brill.
23rd July 2004
Well not much has really been happening recently on the practice side of things as Rob is enjoying the delights of Texas
and Mexico! Also Sam and I are off to Spain for a bit. However, Practices will be taking place a lot soon as we just
got another show lined up. We're all really happy as it's our first show at the Portland in Cambridge in ages and it's such
a fun place to play! Shall expect to see all of you down there in your gladrags! We're also really looking forward to playing
3 gigs in a week including one for our leicester friends. stay cool kids.
30th June 2004
We got back the mastered version(s) of 'Know by Now' today and they sound ace! look forward to hearing it! its
rockin' ...with want of a better word. Also got a gig supporting Jetplane Landing! wooooo! Theyre well good! come along, enjoy
us, and then enjoy JPL with us!
16th June 2004
Managed to get us a gig at the APU bar in a ten days time, hooray...we will be headlining! So you people had better come
along! As far as the cd goes, we're just waiting on "know by now" to be mastered and then we can get to work on putting it
together. Shouldn't take too long hopefully. Well, see you all on the 26th..should give me a chance to get over my sunburn.
3rd June 2004
All the parts for "Know By Now" have been recording, leaving the mastering to be done. Given a week or 2 hopefully the
track will be finished and sounding brill! We'll get bits of the recently recorded 3 tracks on here as soon as possible. Also
in the process of trying to get lots of gigs, so keep posted! Th leicester one has been confirmed so anyone near there....u
know the score
23rd May 2004
Over the next few weeks we'll be recording our own parts for 'Know By Now' at the main studio at the ACM in guildford. Drums
have been layed down already, Guitars & BV's next week and Bass/Vocals the week after. So hopefully it should be sounding
grand by summer! We'll keep you all posted on the ep!
26th April 2004
We've got 2 more songs recorded - "Something to hold on to" and "Breaking Point". Theyre both being mastered
at the moment and are sounding good. We've not decided on what's happening about cd's yet but most likely will be a 4/5 track
e.p available at future gigs.
Also the new song "Dying for days" was performed for the first time at the Student union at Surrey uni last
tuesday and all went well so it's been added to the setlist. We're in the process of getting more shows, we'll keep u posted.
10th April 2004
Recently been perfecting "dying for days" so it'll be ready for the next gig. Also in the process of arranging recording

we said before.
23rd December 2003
Change of plan for the gig. We're no longer doing the 10th jan, its now the 22nd and will be with up and coming welsh

22nd December 2003
We just want to apologise for having to pull out of the show on dec 16th at the boatrace. Rob was ill in bed the whole
day and was too ill to play so we had no option but to pull out. Me and Sam couldve always gone along and done a free
jam jazz session instead but we decided it wasnt the time or place.. yeah so we had a good practice yesterday, robs feeling
better and we have some new stuff which will be ready for the gig on the 10th..so yeah!have a great christmas everyone!
29th November 2003
Just finished another practice, a few new songs coming on nicely and we should have at least one of them ready for the
boatrace gig in a few weeks. We're all really looking forward to playing with the AR guys again. Should be ace. Roll on the
16th!
24th October 2003
Well we're gonna be gearing up and getting ready for the boatrace gig tomorrow night. After hearing that minus had been added
we were pretty pleased!! Theyre going to be supporting Hundred Reasons for a couple of dates next week, then Million Dead
in November so theyre definatly one to check out. We still havent managed to run off any of the 5 track eps so youll have
to make do with the 2track ones for now. Not that theyre bad...cos they arent...theyre good...we think...yes. come to the
gig!
10th September 2003
I (Tom) am back off to uni today so I thought I'd update the site as much as I could. There are now 2 new sound samples in
the MP3 Section from the songs "A Fuel For All The Pain" and "A Million Things". We're really pleased with the results and thanks again to Jhon! Download them, listen to them, watch a good video,
eat if youre hungry, then contact us and buy our e.p. It's good. 5 tracks for £4..bargain! I'm off now, see you all soon...hopefully in Northampton on the 27th!
8th September 2003
Just picked up the finished master of the most recently recorded tracks which means we can now put together an e.p for
you guys with 5...yes 5 tracks! woohoo! We'll also probably sell a 1 track cd at gigs too just in case people dont have much
money and would rather buy beer because youre bloody blokes...wahey football and things. goal. Oh and we have a gig at the
boatrace late october, check out the gig news section of the site. ta!

elsewhere! should be fun! We'll keep you posted.

up. Not confirmed yet but if it is then it'll be great! With 2 bands, both American and both playing the carling stage at
the reading/leeds weekends. The Whirlwind Heat and The Prosaics. This will be on Thurs, Aug 28th 2003 @ the Boatrace. So be
there!
8th June 2003
Well, as you can tell by the lack of updates we've had a bit of a break from band stuff what with uni and everything.
Dont worry though, we're in the process of getting some gigs lined up and hopefully some more recording before too long. We'll
let you all know as soon as theres some new news!

15th March 2003
The gig on the 13th went really well. We're really sorry for not posting it up on here that it had been on but I was
having trouble with the sitebuilder thingy. Thanks to everyone who still managed to come though! Anyway, we decided at the
gig that it was too much hassle to change our name totally so we just figured we'd change the spelling! Hope you like it!
Oh and good news, the demo has been finished so look out for it at future gigs!
1st March 2003
Sorry guys, it looks like the 13th March gig is cancelled due to organisation problems. Dont worry though, we are trying
to sort out a gig at the portland for the end of march so you can all come see us then! woohoo! you can sit back and enjoy
our nice new songs.
23rd February 2003
Due to some other band being called 'Sift' and having sold cd's, we had to change our name before selling our cd. Just
so we didn't get sued and lose our trousers. So we are now "Sifting Through Silence" or STS...or whatever you want to call
us! It's annoying but still, had to be done. Hope you like the new name!....Besides that, we have more new songs! woohoo!
so keep a lookout for gigs so you can groove to them. bo.
8th February 2003
Well, all back at uni now so limited practice time is a bit of an issue right now, however we've got a couple of possible
gigs, the 27th marsh on the gig page and also maybe the 6th of march but thats not def at all yet. Any problems with the downloads
then please let us know.
